Md. Rafiq Ahmed

Md. Rafiq Ahmed is the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Executive Officer (CC) of the Company. With over 30 years of extensive experience, Mr. Ahmed brings unparalleled expertise in financial strategy, planning, budgeting, risk management, financial reporting, and business operations.

Before joining Sunlife Insurance Company Limited, Mr. Ahmed served as the CFO of Sandhani Life Insurance Company, where he played a pivotal role in financial decision-making and operational excellence. He has also held key positions in renowned organizations such as Delta Life Insurance Company Ltd., Prime Islami Life Insurance Ltd, Sunflower Life Insurance Company Ltd., and contributing significantly to their growth and success.

Mr. Md. Rafiq Ahmed holds a Master of Business Administration from National University, Bangladesh, and has completed several executive training programs and workshops conducted both locally and globally.

Mr. Ahmed is an accomplished leader in the life insurance industry who is dedicated to driving organizational growth, fostering innovation, and delivering excellence within the company.

Shahedur Rahman Khan is the Head of Internal Audit at the company, bringing over 28 years of comprehensive experience in auditing, risk management, internal controls, insurance accounting, financial management, and corporate governance. His career is marked by a strong commitment to promoting financial transparency and operational excellence.

He joined Sunlife Insurance Company Limited as Deputy General Manager – Finance & Accounts, where he significantly contributed to the company’s micro-insurance initiatives. His strategic leadership in Micro Insurance Accounts Affairs set a benchmark for operational efficiency. Subsequently, he took over the role as Head of Internal Audit, where he continues to ensure robust governance and compliance.

Mr. Shadedur began his professional journey in 1996 with National Life Insurance Company Limited and his last role was Accounts In-Charge, Janabima Project, where he laid a solid foundation in insurance accounting.

Mr. Khan holds a Master’s degree in commerce and has completed his CA (CC) from Aftab Ahmed & Co. With a strategic vision and an in-depth understanding of the insurance industry, he is an invaluable asset to the company.

Mahmud Afsar Ibne Hossain has been serving as the Head of Corporate Business in the Company since September 2024.With an impressive 19 years of experience in the corporate sector, Mr. Mahmud has established himself as a seasoned professional in driving business growth and managing diverse teams. Prior to joining Sunlife Insurance Company limited, he held the position of Head of Group Business at Guardian Life Insurance.

Mahmud’s career began with Grameenphone in 2006, where he gained extensive experience in corporate sales, working across various regions of Bangladesh. His expertise spans business strategy, Key account management, corporate relationship management and innovative insurance solutions, making him a valuable leader in the industry.

Kazi Tariqul Islam leads the technology operations at Sunlife Insurance Company Limited, driving innovation and efficiency across the IT systems. With 20 years of distinguished experience in the insurance sector, He specializes in technology infrastructure, software development, mobile applications, system enhancements, and advanced reporting tools.

Prior to joining Sunlife Insurance Company Ltd, Mr. Tariqul served as the Head of IT at Progressive Life Insurance Company Ltd. and as Software Development Lead at National Life Insurance Company Ltd., where he significantly contributed to modernizing their technological frameworks.

Mr. Tariqul has completed B.Sc. in Computer Science and Engineering from Khulna University. He is an active member of Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB) and Bangladesh Computer Society. Additionally, he has completed professional training on Database Administration in Oracle 10g from IBCS Primax Limited.

Major Mohammad Zakir Siddique (Retd.) has been serving as the Head of Administration in the Company since October 2024. Overseeing the company’s administrative operations with a focus on efficiency and excellence.

With 24 years of versatile leadership and management experience in national and international spheres, spanning across the Army, United Nations, and paramilitary forces, Major Zakir has honed his expertise in administration, supply chain management and logistics, procurement, training, security, disaster management, human resources management, and organizational development.

Prior to joining Sunlife Insurance Company Limited, Major Zakir (retd) gained invaluable experience in the Bangladesh Army, where he collaborated with a wide range of national and international stakeholders to successfully coordinate and execute multiple projects from inception to completion. His career reflects a strong commitment to operational excellence and strategic leadership.

Yusuf Ali is a well-versed Human Resources professional with over 13 years of experience spanning diversified industries. He has expertise in organizational transformation, shaping and implementing people strategies, fostering employee engagement and culture, leveraging digital and data-driven insights, enhancing employee experiences, and managing compensation and benefits as well as HR operations.

Over the span of his career, Mr. Yusuf has worked in ShopUp, Navana Group and some more reputed companies. He earned an MBA and a Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resource Management.

With a focus on driving organizational growth and innovation, Mr. Yusuf consistently delivers impactful HR solutions to enhance workforce capabilities and foster a supportive, dynamic work environment.
